Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounting Coordinator is responsible for supporting the accounts receivable, payroll and other accounting functions at Compass.
DUTIES:
- Payroll preparation and administration, including:
- completion of ROEs
- preparing T4s
- reconciling, and remitting payroll liabilities
- posting payroll journal entries
- reconciling payroll and employee benefits general ledger accounts
- Managing accounts receivable functions, including:
- preparing invoices
- depositing and posting cash receipts
- reconciling the accounts receivable sub ledger
- follow up to ensure collection of past due receivables
- Preparing and posting bank transactions and reconciliations, downloading bank statements and reports
- Manage corporate credit card program including issuance of cards, processing credit limit changes, managing email alerts and downloading statements and reports
- Assisting with the annual audit including preparing supporting documents and responding to inquiries
- Providing other accounting support as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University or College Diploma in business accounting or equivalent
- Knowledge and experience with accounting functions as well as payroll and employee benefits
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information
- Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to assess priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience with Excel and a variety of computer software, experience with Sage 300 considered an asset
- Possession of a valid Ontario driver’s license and the availability of an automobile in good working condition
- Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, French is an asset
- CPA designation considered an asset
